Abstract

In this talk, we first review the mathematical theory of inverse scattering problems and the development of numerical methods. Then, we will discuss some effective direct sampling methods for acoustic and electromagnetic wave inverse scattering problems. At the end of the talk, we will give an introduction to the general framework of direct sampling methods for some typical nonlinear inverse problems. The lectures are also suitable for graduate students and senior undergraduates.
